There is something so magical about photographing families on the beach, and this sunset session in Oceanside, CA reminded me exactly why I love being an Oceanside Family Photographer. The golden light and beautiful ocean, a picnic for dinner — it all creates the most effortless setting for authentic, joy-filled moments.
What Made This Family Session Extra Special
I had photographed Sean and Stacy’s wedding exactly 5 years ago to the day (!!) SO SPECIAL to capture that special day to now photographing their growing family. For this session, this family picked up pizza as they always do on Friday nights (shoutout to Odies Pizza for the best – it’s where we always pick up for our own beach picnics! https://www.odiespizza.com/ ) , and we met at a beach in Oceanside, just as the sun dipped low in the sky. The light was warm, buttery, and perfect.
The kids ran barefoot, we feasted on pizza, we built sand castles, snuggled, tickled, mom and dad held each other thinking, “How do they grow so fast?!”
These are the moments that make family sessions so meaningful. Not posed perfection, but the natural connection between you and the people you love most.
