Bali Hai Wedding

There is something very special about photographing a wedding day that contains so much genuine emotion. Madelyn and Harrison’s Bali Hai Wedding in San Diego was exactly that. Set along the San Diego Bay, their day was meaningful and overflowing with love from start to finish. From the quiet, emotional getting ready moments to the high-energy celebration on the dance floor, every part of this day felt full of heart.

Joy truly defined this wedding day. Madelyn was so radiant. She had the biggest smile all day long, and when she wasn’t smiling, she was crying happy tears. She is one of those brides whose warmth you feel in every interaction. She was so present and intentional with each one of her loved ones.

What Made This Bali Hai Wedding So Special

The getting ready moments set the tone for the day. Lots of positive emotions filled the room. One of the most meaningful moments happened right after Madelyn finished getting ready, when Madelyn shared a quiet moment with her mom before heading to the altar. Those in-between moments are often the most powerful, and this one perfectly captured the heart of the day.

After the ceremony, one of my favorite moments was watching Madelyn and Harrison’s parents embrace in a big hug! Little moments like this are why wedding days are so meaningful to photograph.

Madelyn and Harrison’s connection is effortless. The way they look at each other is full of admiration. Harrison, a Navy pilot, looked extra sharp in his uniform. His engraved ring was a thoughtful detail, a small piece of Madelyn and Harrison’s story integrated in their big day.

Additionally, the bridesmaids’ dresses were a beautiful soft blue, which complemented the church dome. Every detail felt intentional.

We took bride and groom portraits along the San Diego Bay. As if the day wasn’t already magical enough, it began to rain unexpectedly, but was followed by a soft rainbow in the sky. We are convinced it was Madelyn’s dad. :’)

Finally, the dance floor at the reception was full of energy, laughter, and celebration. Harrison and his guys sang “You lost that loving feeling” to Madelyn. IYKYK! It was the perfect ending to Madelyn and Harrison’s Bali Hai Wedding.
